Digital Flight Logs
All customers with Spider X devices can now automatically capture and upload Digital Flight Log events in real-time. These new events (engine, blocks, takeoff/landing) are shown on the Flying page (track display option set to 'All Events') as well as in the Flight Report map and timeline. Associated times, counts and durations are shown as new columns in the flight History table.
Summary flight log data is included in our flight Summary download to enable operators to further process and analyse according to their needs.

Kopter AW09 Integration (feature toggle)
Kopter has partnered with Spidertracks to deliver enhanced situational awareness to ground crews of their newest helicopter model, the AW09. This is achieved by the factory fitted Spider X offloading CAS alerts from the Garmin avionics in real-time to inform ground crew of any airframe or engine issues via the Spidertracks platform (web and mobile) and email/SMS notifications.
This integration is now live in our product, behind a feature toggle until the AW09 enters production.
Similar to Flight Log events, CAS events are shown as alerts on the Flying page and in the Flight Report map and timeline. These events are also included in detailed track downloads.
Enhancements
- General
- On the Flying page (All Events display option) and Flight Report, all position reports are now shown on tracks when the map zoom is 200m or higher. This allows jumping to any point in a track to investigate parameters.
- Adding tips have been added on Point Info Panel 'Speed' and 'Altitude' parameters to clarify their points of reference
- 'Insights' nav button updated to function consistently with others
- Support now links to our new Knowledge Base in Zendesk (you are here!)
- Settings (Admin)
- Menu now only shows GPIO page to customers of Spider 7 and Spider 8. This keeps the menu cleaner for others, and avoids confusion with Spider X Input Cable configuration which is managed via the mobile apps.
- Aircraft & Spider reporting settings page now shows appropriate feedback for 3rd party tracking devices (Flightcell DZMx + tracks received via AFF)
- Integrations (Admin)
- Connections to external integrations (under Manage Apps) can now be disconnected on demand without dev team support.
- Geofence (feature toggle)
- Geofence event descriptions included in Detail Track downloads now include breach type and fence name details to assist with post processing
Bugs Fixed
- Large summary downloads: Fixed timeout errors when downloading summaries with up to 1000 flights
- Navigation menu icon: Insights icon fixed to show green when the Insights page is selected (only applies to Safety Insights module subscribers)
- Spider X provisioning: Fixed rare issue causing a Spider X's points to show up under a different Spider X
- Geofence notification context: Email and SMS notifications breach context occasionally not correct - showed 'Altitude Below' instead of 'Boundary'
