Flying Page v2 is Here: Smarter Oversight, Richer Context
We’ve rolling out an enhanced version of the Flying Page — your operational command center for real-time flight activity. Designed with Flight Followers and Dispatch teams in mind, the updated view brings new tools to help you stay informed, act quickly, and manage large fleets more efficiently.
At the heart of this update is a smarter Aircraft list. Aircraft are now automatically sorted to prioritize what matters most—those with active SOS alerts, airborne aircraft, then ground-active, and finally inactive aircraft. A new time window selector (defaulting to “Today”) helps focus your view, while powerful filters by Aircraft Type and Organisation let you drill down into subsets of your fleet with ease.
Clicking an aircraft now reveals a greatly expanded information panel with key flight details at a glance: altitude (AGL), speed, departure and arrival times, event durations, and more. You’ll also see direct links to other areas of the platform like Flight History, Multi-View and Reports, making it easier to dive deeper when needed. Even in its collapsed state, the panel now displays more actionable context to help you monitor operations without extra clicks.
Nothing critical has been removed—this update is a superset of the original functionality, with more insights and efficiency built in. We’ve also added new tooltips and Knowledge Base links to support you as you explore the changes.
The new Flying Page will be made available alongside the existing page for all customers over the next week. Following an adjustment window, the old page will be removed.
You can learn more via the Onboarding module within the product, or via our Knowledge Base page.
Check it out and experience better fleet visibility today.
New Feature: Flight Log Locations
We’ve made it easier to understand and manage aircraft movements with the introduction of Flight Log Locations — a new feature that automatically tags Spider X automatic takeoff and landing events with airport names and location codes.
Flights now include clearly identified departure and arrival locations for each leg using a combination of global databases (ICAO, IATA, and other unofficial codes). You can also manage custom locations for private strips, helipads, or seaplane bases.
For operators flying to a variety of locations — like charter services, training schools, aeromedical teams, and infrastructure patrol — this saves time and removes ambiguity when reviewing history, dispatching, or notifying your team.
Location preferences and permissions are managed via a new admin interface under Admin > Organisation > Locations, where you can:
Set the priority for location source types (e.g. Custom > ICAO > IATA > Other)
Control who can add new entries
View and manage custom locations
To learn more, refer to the Flight Log Locations Knowledge Base page.
This feature is rolling out to all customers over the next week, and doesn't require any setup.
Your team will see a feature announcement in the History page that optionally links to the onboarding guide for this feature to help them get started.
Improvements: SOS Workflow
We’ve shipped two updates that make it faster and clearer to manage in-flight emergencies.
1) SOS details in the Flying page mini-timeline
When you expand an aircraft on the Flying page, the mini-timeline now shows the key moments in the SOS workflow so Flight Followers and Emergency Response Team members have immediate context while supporting an event.
What you’ll see
Each SOS milestone with a timestamp (e.g., SOS Button Pressed, SOS Opened, SOS Escalated, SOS Cancelled).
The trigger source when known (e.g., Aircraft (Spider), Tier 2 (via website)).
Why it matters
Eliminates guesswork during an active SOS.
-
Keeps everyone aligned on what happened and when.
2) Pilot-initiated SOS cancellation (Spider X)
Pilots using Spider X can now clear an SOS from the cockpit.
How to cancel
Long-press the Spider SOS button (or keypad SOS button) until the beep stops.
The Spider Status indicator returns to normal.
Flight Followers will see a “SOS Cancelled” event in the timeline and the aircraft status will return to normal.
What you’ll see
The aircraft status will return to normal
The open SOS will be closed
Requirements
Spider X hardware
Firmware v7.1.3 or later
