Introducing Flight Explorer

We're pleased to announce a significant upgrade to post flight analysis within Spidertracks; Over the next month, Flight Explorer will replace Flight Report for all customers.

This new tool provides access to all data for a flight in one place.

With Flight Explorer, you can:

• Jump straight to points of interest by clicking flight events in any panel
• Efficiently navigate playback with speed and stepping controls
• Enrich spatial understanding with 3D and terrain views*
• Zoom in on details with interactive charts and 1s* resolution data
• Investigate peak values and correlations with configurable chart series, including attitude data**.

Rollout will be seamless - you don't need to do anything. When your organisation has received the update, all links from History and Insights drill downs will automatically open in Flight Explorer. 

Details and onboarding guidance will be presented within the web app when you first visit the new page.

Enhancements

• Track Display Settings: Three new settings have been added under Account > My Settings > Preferences; 

       

1. Bold width: Determines if bold or narrow line weight. 
2. Gray underline: Determines if unselected tracks on Flying page and multi-flight report show with a gray border to assist with map view contrast. 
3. Match Aircraft Colours: Determins if track lines match the icon colour. When disabled, red will be used for all unselected tracks, and blue for selected tracks.

• Audible SOS notifications: When an SOS is raised (by a pilot or Watch event) and a member that is setup to receive these is using the web product (e.g. a flight follower), they will now receive an audible alert tone from the web browser. This tone will repeat every 5 minutes until the the SOS is closed. 
• Customer Feedback Portal: Customers can now submit ideas to improve the Spidertracks solution via our feedback portal. Idea submissions will be private initially; Spidertracks will evaluate opening ideas for public viewing and comment in toward the end of year.

       

Bug Fixes

• Login Page: Fixed an issue causing infinite response delay when authenticating with certain invalid credential combinations.
• Aircraft List loading feedback: Added a 'loading' icon when the Flying page aircraft list is still loading. This prevents showing 'No Aircraft' message for large fleets and/or long load times on poor internet connections.
