To use an external antenna with your Spider, you must enable the antenna setting through the mobile app.
This article explains how to enable and disable the external antenna on your Spider X.
Note: The default antenna setting for the Spider is set to internal. The external antenna configuration should be switched to the ON position, only if you have an external antenna installed and connected to your Spider X, otherwise, this needs to be in the off position.
To enable or check the status of the Spider X antenna configuration, you will first have to make sure that you have the latest version of the Spidertracks App. The Spidertracks App can be downloaded from both the IOS App Store and Google Play. Search 'Spidertracks' to find the app.
Downloading the Applications:
iOS
1. Search Spidertracks in the App Store on your device.
2. Click Get or 'Open (open will show it you have previously downloaded the app).
In iOS, you will be prompted and need to allow Spidertracks to send you push notifications.
Android
1. Search Spidertracks in Google Play on your device and click Install.

To Enable Or Disable The Antenna Settings
1. Open the App.
2. Login with the details that you used to sign up with on app.spidertracks.io.
3. Tap More.
4. Tap Manage Spider.
5. Select Advanced Setup.
6. You will now receive a message that says 'Confirm you have permission to adjust these settings'.
7. Toggle the external antenna to on.
8. Click Confirm.
DO NOT ENABLE CELLULAR ANTENNA CONFIGURATION unless you have a cellular antenna installed.
Selecting the incorrect antenna could result in a complete loss of tracking. Only change this setting if you know you're selecting the correct antenna.
Note: The external antenna configuration should only be used if you are using the Spider with an external antenna, otherwise this needs to be in the off position. If you don't know, contact your account owner or contact support@spidertracks.com.
Note: A Spider X is versatile, it can be used with or without an external antenna.
Note: The Spider needs to be in close proximity to the mobile device with the Spidertracks app loaded so it can connect via Bluetooth.
