Many Spidertracks customers are involved in flight training activities. These often involve Touch and Go Landings which operators not involved in flight training typically do not want to count. For this reason the default Flight Logs behavior is to ignore these events.
Operations wanting to see and count Touch and Go Landing (TGL) events are able to do so by enabling this feature.
Generating and displaying TGL events
- TGL events are a special case where a pair of landing and takeoff events occur within a time window of each other. These are not reported as normal landing and takeoff events, but will be shown as a single TGL event if this option is configured.
- TGL events are displayed on the map and in the timeline using the following icon:
- TGL events will also be included in the detail track download.
Impact on Flight Logs and API
- TGL events will only contribute to Flight Log LANDINGS count when enabled.
- TGL events will only contribute to flight leg boundaries in the Flight Logs API when enabled.
- TGL time touching the ground is not subtracted from AIR TIME as this is insignificant by definition.
At present, this needs to be enabled by out customer support team, who can be contacted at support@spidertracks.com.
