Insights and Insights Plus Modules

Spidertracks offer two powerful add-on modules—Insights and Insights Plus—designed to help aviation operators improve safety outcomes, streamline operational analysis, and support compliance with safety management frameworks.

These modules leverage high-resolution flight data captured by the Spider X device to surface trends, detect risk factors, and enable teams to respond proactively. Whether you're focused on enhancing flight safety, supporting training initiatives, or improving engine and airframe efficiency, these modules provide the tools and visibility to drive meaningful change.

Both modules require Spider X hardware. Pricing varies by module.

Insights Module

Gain visibility into unsafe trends and exceedances using data-driven safety insights. The Insights module helps organisations proactively identify risky flight behaviours and respond early—before they result in incidents or accidents. It's especially valuable for operators implementing or evolving their Safety Management System (SMS).

Insights Feature	Description
High-Frequency Data	Leverages 1 Hz data streams including GPS altitude (AMSL, AGL), vertical speed, ground speed, pitch, roll, yaw, and G-force data.
Customisable Event Rules	Detect exceedances and unsafe patterns using single or compound conditions (e.g., low altitude + high pitch).
Tiered Severity Thresholds	Define rules with single thresholds or a three-tier severity model (low, medium, high).
Insights Dashboard	Visualise trends, events, and severity levels across your fleet. Filter by aircraft, event type, severity and time.
Drill-Down Investigation	Click any panel to view related flights and jump directly into Flight Explorer for analysis.
Notifications	Send SMS/email alerts when events occur. Configure based on severity level.
Access Controls	Insights management and dashboard access is limited to Owners and Admins. All users can receive event notifications.
Export Options	Download the dashboard content as a PDF for reporting or internal review.

Insights Plus Module (beta)

Build on the power of the Insights module with even deeper operational understanding. Insights Plus introduces additional aircraft metrics via third-party integrations to help identify trends that impact operational efficiency, engine health, and maintenance planning.

Insights Plus includes all the features of the standard Insights module, with additional data streams sourced from third-party cockpit integrations.

Insights Plus Feature	Description
Engine Metrics	Access data including torque, oil pressure, oil temperature, RPM, CHT, EGT, ITT, manifold pressure, N1/N2, rotor speed.
Airframe Metrics	Includes airspeed, OAT, fuel quantity, fuel pressure, and fuel flow from compatible sensors.
Operational Summary Data	View engine starts, total engine hours, and total air hours in the post-flight History table.
Hardware Integration	Currently available via specific third-party avionics systems (beta). Compatibility expanding.
Export Options	Export enriched Insights dashboard content as PDF for stakeholder reporting.
